*Reducing filler flanges are available in carbon steel or stainless
steel up to 30" dia.
|
|
Note: |
Rotationally-lined "Complex Shapes" are available lined with
Tefzel® ETFE through 30" dia. Housing and flange material can be
carbon steel or stainless steel. These include manifolds, branched
elbows, reducing laterals, double and triple branch instruments tees,
etc, per customer requirements. Tefzel® liner is unpigmented.
Check Resistoflex chemical resistance data for max. use temperature
of Tefzel® with various media. Liner selection is responsibility
of the customer. Contact factory for more information. |

7. LINER REQUIREMENTS: |
|
- Resin is PTFE or PFA conforming to the requirements of ASTM F1545.
- Liners are unpigmented. PTFE is white in color; PFA is clear.
Note: Standard fittings are available to provide 450° full vacuum
performance if so specified. Some fittings may have a reduced vacuum rating -
please refer to the vacuum tables for details. |

The minimum liner flange face thickness is 0.100" (2.54 mm). |
|
8. OPERATING REQUIREMENTS: |
|
- Service temperature:
For PTFE (carbon steel or DI housing and flanges):
-20° F (-29°C) to 450°F (232°C)
For PFA:
0°F (-18°C) to 450°F (232°C)
|
Note 1: |
PTFE-lined stainless steel fittings can be used at lower
temperatures than shown above. Please consult technical services
for details. |
|
Note 2: |
Operating temperature limitations may be encountered depending
upon specific chemical environments. |
|
B. |
Pressure: The maximum allowable working pressure equals the
corresponding ASNI pressure-temperature rating per the designated
metallurgy. |
|
C. |
Vacuum: 1"-12"fittings are available with full-vacuum capabilities.
Consult Resistoflex product publications, web site, or factory for
specific temperature/vacuum ratings. Complex Shapes vacuum rating is
undetermined. Testing can be provided at an additional charge. |
|
9. STORAGE AND HANDLING REQUIREMENTS: |
|
- Avoid dropping or impacting fittings with heavy objects or storing
near high traffic areas.
- Uninstalled lined fittings should not be stored or handled at
temperatures below 0°F (-18°C).
|
|
10. PAINT
|
|
|
Paint is a two component epoxy primer,
formulated on proprietary polymer technology, which provides rapid
cure and overcoating even under low temperature conditions. The
maximum external temperature rating is 212°F (100°C).
Note: Stainless steel fittings are not painted. |
|
11. INSPECTION AND QUALITY CONTROL: |
|
- 100% of PTFE-lined fittings shall pass a 12,500 - 15,000 volt
electrostatic test or a 425 psig hydrostatic test. These tests are
designed to verify the integrity of the plastic liner. ASTM F1545
specifies that the lined pipe manufacturer may employ either test.
Complex Shapes shall receive either a 12,500 volt minimum electrostatic
test or a 425 psig hydrostatic test.
- All parts pass visual inspection.
- The sealing surface of the liner is free of defects that would
impair sealing effectiveness.
- Wooden or plastic end protectors are used to protect the plastic
faces. End protectors should stay in place until immediately prior to
installation.
- Fittings are labeled with a sticker which identifies the plastic
liner type and the flange material.
- Color Band Coding:
- Fitting liner material is identified by a color band as
follows:
- Products are available impression marked for material
traceability.
